Seoul, Korea – Korean idol group Shinee, as taking a leading role in K-pop’s popularity in Europe, had an interview with Le Monde – a prime French media.
The interview lasted about 30 minutes starting from 3 p.m., April 20 in SM Entertainment Company Building in Chungdam. The interview was conducted by the reporters from Le Monde and joined by 54 French fans that came to visit Korea to experience the so-called ‘Han-Ryu’ – Korean entertainment and pop culture’s growing influences in an increasing number of countries.
Since this was the first time for the fans of Han-Ryu from Europe (other than Asia including Japan and China) to come to visit Korea, one could easily tell the popularity of Shinee and K-pop that is growing not only in all over Asia but also in Europe.
Also, it was reported that those French fans yelled out cheers when Shinee’s music videos started playing, sang along in Korean lyrics and call out the names of the members before the interview started, reflecting the growing popularity of Shinee and K-pop.
On that day, Le Monde showed a great deal of interest in shine by asking lots of questions, ranging from the training course before their debut, their remarkable activities in Asia and their feelings about the reported popularity in Europe.
Meanwhile, Shinee is going to appear on ‘SMTOWN LIVE Concert-Le Zenith de Paris’ on June 10 in Paris.
